Farmville, Va. – The Presbyterian College women’s soccer team (5-4, 0-3 Big South) fell to Longwood (3-5-3, 1-1-2) by a final score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon behind a pair of second half goals by the Lancers.

How It Happened

Longwood’s Madison Lockamy headed a shot on goal after a blocked shot that Megan Serrano was able to push over at 32:53 in what was one of the best chances of the first half.

The teams entered the half scoreless, tied 3-3 on corners and with the hosts holding a 9-6 advantage on shots. Serrano had four saves.

Lockamy then scored her first goal of the year off a deflected corner kick in the 51st minute to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead. Emilie Kupsov then received a leading pass from Kelly Almeida in the 65th minute and beat Serrano low and off the far post to extend the lead to 2-0.

Preston Robinette nearly scored in the final minute of the game, but a Longwood defender was able to clear her header off the line to seal the game. Robinette tied with senior Kelsey Yearger to lead PC with three shots on the day.
