Orangeburg, S.C. – Presbyterian College’s Morgan Hutchison scored a pair of goals on Wednesday night to lead PC to a 4-0 win over SC State at O.C. Dawson Stadium. The Blue Hose improved to 4-1 on the year while the Bulldogs fell to 0-6.
How It Happened
The Blue Hose applied pressure early to the Bulldogs, netting three goals in the first 30 minutes. Hutchison struck first in the 23rd minute off a pass from Taylor Coleman that bypassed the keeper and gave the sophomore a wide-open net for her second goal of the season.
Jessica Escobar set up PC's next goal with a cross from the left side. The freshman's cross was briefly deflected by Preston Robinette and a pair of Bulldog defenders before falling to Peyton Patterson who went top-shelf from three yards out to make it 2-0 in the 28th minute.
Patterson picked up her third point of the game with an assist on PC's third goal in the 29th minute. Her pass perfectly led Samantha Britt who finished her breakaway into the right side netting.
The Blue Hose extended their win streak to a DI program-best of four games.
PC has scored two or more unanswered goals in four of their five games this season.
PC will travel to Wofford for a 4 p.m. game on Sunday, September 9.
