Charlotte, N.C. – Presbyterian College women’s soccer goal keeper, Alyssa Leaman, has been named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for week two of the women’s soccer season. This is the first player of the week honor for the sophomore goal keeper.

Leaman played an integral role in helping lead the Blue Hose women defeat both Furman, 2-0 and Wofford, 3-2 over the weekend. Against Furman she shut the Paladins out after they had scored six goals in each of their first two matches. She tallied five saves in that match.

Against Wofford Leaman came up with nine saves on the Terriers 11 shots on goal. The Terriers did not score in the first half as Leaman recorded 137 minutes of shut-out soccer before allowing a goal. Overall she recorded 14 saves versus 16 shots on goal against her, good for a .875 save percentage.

The Blue Hose are back in action on Friday as they travel to face the College of Charleston at 7 p.m.
