CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s soccer team announced Monday the signing of Tara Brophy, who will join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2017. Her addition brings the total number of signees to eight.

Brophy, a defender from Wantagh, N.Y., is a four year varsity player and captain at MacArthur High School. This past season, she led her team to tie for the most shutouts in Nassau County and the least goals allowed in school history. She was the second runner up for Conference Player of the Year and was named to the All-County Team. Brophy played club ball for Albertson Fury ECNL, earning Varsity Camp MVP honors and the Albertson Robert Blitz Memorial Award for outstanding dedication this year.

In addition to soccer, Brophy played varsity lacrosse and mid varsity track as a long distance runner. An AP and honors student, she belongs to the Art Honors Society, World Language Honor Society, Athletes for a Better Community Club, National Honor Society, Environmental Club, Autism Awareness Club, and served as a Peer Leader. In her spare time, she volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Association and Make A Wish Foundation.
