Richmond, Va. – The Richmond women’s lacrosse team exploded for 15 unanswered goals before halftime after trailing Presbyterian College, 2-1, five minutes into the game. The Spiders tacked on four goals in the second half for a 20-2 win on Tuesday at Robins Stadium.

Scoring the Game

The Blue Hose started strong and twice held a one-goal lead over the Spiders in the early minutes. Kelly Hyman scored a shorthanded goal at 26:26 to give PC a 1-0 lead. Then, after a tying goal from Aly Fries, Jordan Bryon scored her first goal of the season to give PC a 2-1 lead at 24:50. However, Richmond took control of the game with a 15-0 run before halftime and cruised to the 20-2 win.

Presbyterian College moves to 1-6 on the year, while Richmond improves to 6-1.

Stats of the Game

Richmond outshot PC by a margin of 39-5, with a 30-3 advantage on goal. The Spiders also led in draw controls, 19-5, ground balls, 25-9, and caused turnovers, 15-4.
