LYNCHBURG, VA – The Presbyterian College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished ninth at the Big South Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Duncan Gotfredson (44th) ran 28:07 to lead the men’s team, and Sally Hart (36th) ran 20:28 to lead the women’s team.

Ripley Fricano (43rd) ran 20:43, Emily Swanigan (56th) ran 21:56, Denise Devaney (62nd) ran 22:21, Bea DiBona (64th) ran 22:43, and Hydia Green (67th) ran 22:46.

William Wise (45th) finished a step behind Gotfredson in 28:08, a mere 10 seconds off his PR and on the most challenging course of the season. Banner Plumb (57th) and Neel Taber (58th) ran 29:20 and 29:28 respectively. Alex Johnson (73rd) ran 32:54. Jake Birdsong (77th) ran 35:03.

High Point won the women's championship with 29 points. The Panther’s freshman Famke Heinst ran 17:55 to win the individual championship. Campbell (75), Liberty (80), UNCA (109), Radford (137), Winthrop (155), Charleston Southern (159), Gardner-Webb (207), PC (236), and Longwood (297) rounded out the 10 competing teams.

Campbell won the men's team championship with 38 points. The Camel’s freshman Amon Kemboi ran 24:14 to win the individual championship. Liberty was in a close second with 42 points. Charleston Southern (86), UNCA (105), Radford (107), High Point (159), Winthrop (211), Gardner-Webb (242), PC (244), and Longwood (277) rounded out the 10 competing teams.

This was the last race of the season for PC.
