Presbyterian College and head women’s basketball coach Alaura Sharp announced the signing of Tionna Carter (Norcross, Ga.), Jade Compton (Garland, Texas) and Le’Mesha Madden (Dallas, Texas) to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2019.

The trio joins a class consisting of Georgia Stockton (Rabun, Ga.) and Shariah Gaddy (Pineville, N.C.) who signed during the early window back in November.

Tionna Carter – 6’1 – Forward – Norcross, Georgia (Norcross HS)

High School: Averaged 13 points, four rebounds and 1.8 steals per game for head coach Dani Wright at Norcross High School … Team won three region championship titles and finished her senior year 19-11 overall and 11-1 in conference … All-County Academic Team member her junior and senior seasons … Scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds in the Gwinnett County All-Star Game … Member of 99 varsity wins over her four seasons at Norcross High School.

Coach Sharp said: "We are thrilled to announce the signing of Tionna. She will be a tremendous asset to our program and is an intelligent and hard-working player who looks to achieve greatness in all she does. She is a great rebounder with a knack to score and will add length and athleticism to our team. She had a decorated high school career and played in a highly successful program."

Jade Compton – 5’10 – Forward – Garland, Texas (Hill College)

Hill College: Averaged 12.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game her sophomore season for head coach Scott Hyland at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas … Team finished the season 21-10 and ranked 25th in the country … Named to the NJCAA Region 5 All-Region Team and an All-Conference selection … Averaged 8.2 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game as a freshman Recorded double-doubles at Bossier Parris (21pts/10rbs), Temple (22pts/16rbs), Tyler (20pts/11rbs) and Paul Quinn JV (13pts/19rbs).

In her words: “The team and coaches welcomed me immediately upon my visit, creating an environment I am excited to be a part of for the next two seasons. PC feels like home, and the team feels like a family I know will support me in my continued growth. God opened my heart and it lead me to PC.”

Coach Sharp said:  "Jade will impact our team in several different ways. We are very excited to add experience to our roster. Jade has played on a successful junior college team in an extremely competitive conference where she has excelled. She can score and rebound inside but is a great shooter and can attack from the perimeter. She is passionate and driven to achieve at high level which will immediately impact us, we are excited to have the opportunity to bring her into our program."

Le’Mesha Madden – 5’7 – Guard – Dallas, Texas (South Oak Cliff HS)

High School: Averaged 21.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.4 steals per game for head coach Kelan Jones at South Oak Cliff High School … 2019 District 12-5A Most Valuable Player … Four-time 1st team All-District 2016-19 … 2018 District Offensive Player of the Year and Co-Defensive Player of the Year … 2017 DISD 9-5A Sophomore of the Year … 2017 South Oak Cliff Most Valuable Player … 2016 Newcomer of the Year … Two-sport athlete who also excelled in track and field … 2019 District Champion in the triple jump … Qualified for Texas Regionals in the shot put, high jump and triple jump. 

In her words: "I'm truly excited and blessed to announce I will be taking my talents to play for Presbyterian College, where I will further my education and continue to develop meaningful relationships. This has been a lifelong goal for me, and I am pleased to say mission accomplished. I look forward to becoming a valued student and a member of the women's basketball team, with setting new goals to achieve there. I want to thank my family, friends and the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity along the way.  I'm ready to begin the next chapter of my life making new friends and building life long relationship.  Lastly, thank you to everyone at Presbyterian College.”

Coach Sharp said: "We are really excited to add a player of Le’Mesha’s caliber to our program.  She will bring athleticism and quickness to our team. She has the ability to create for others and is a tremendous defender. She is crafty and creative with the basketball which allows her to score in many different ways.  She is a woman of character and has a bright athletic and academic future ahead of her."
