CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Presbyterian College guard Trinity Johnson  (Hopkins, S.C.) has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week while High Point senior guard Emma Bockrath (Dayton, Ohio) and Radford redshirt-junior center Sydney Nunley (Lewisburg, W.Va.) have been named Co-Players of the Week for games played during the final week of the regular season, it was announced today by the Conference office.


Johnson averaged 21.0 points and shot just over 40 percent from the field in a pair of Big South contests last week. The guard opened with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in a narrow road setback at Gardner-Webb on Wednesday. She then added a career-high 24 points including three 3-pointers, against regular-season champion Radford on Saturday.


Bockrath averaged 24.0 points per game, shot 60.0 percent (18-for-30) from the field and 6-of-8 (75.0 percent) from 3-point range, as she led the Panthers to a pair of conference victories and the No. 2 seed in next week’s Big South Women’s Basketball Championship. The guard opened the two-game span with 29 points headlined by five triples in HPU’s narrow 82-81 overtime home win over UNC Asheville on Tuesday. She then dropped 19 points, including a 6-for-6 mark from the free throw line in the Panthers’ 70-69 road triumph at Campbell on Saturday. The guard led High Point in the first half with 15 points.


Nunley averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 14.5 rebounds as Radford sealed the No. 1 seed in the 2019 Big South Women’ Basketball Championship with its 15th straight win last week. The center totaled 12 points and 18 boards in the Highlanders’ home win over Hampton on Wednesday, as 13 of her rebounds came on the defensive end. On Saturday, she tallied 15 points and 11 boards in a come-from-behind road triumph at Presbyterian College. The redshirt-junior had a team-high nine of her points in the second half.
