CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball team announced on Monday the signing of Paloma Gragera, a sophomore transfer from Stetson University.

Gragera, a forward from Tres Cantos, Spain, played in four games for the Hatters. A member of the Atlantic Sun Conference, Stetson won the regular season title and participated in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. The team ended the 2016-17 season with a 26-7 record, the best record in program history.

“We are very excited to add Paloma to our roster,” said head coach Todd Steelman. “She will add depth to our frontcourt, and her skill set meshes perfectly with our style of play. Although she'll be unable to participate next season, she will be able to develop skills and gain an understanding of what we are looking to do as a program. Her personality and work ethic are also great complements to the players here at PC--we can't wait to have her here on campus this fall!”

While in Spain, she played for Club Estudiantes, her team winning the Madrid State Championship in 2013 and placing fifth in the country. Gragera also played on the Madrid State All Star Team and competed in the national tournament for U14 and U16. She moved to the United States to attend Montverde Academy in DeLand, Fla., where she averaged 12.3 points and 8.1 rebounds to help her team to a 17-4 record as a senior, earning her an invitation to the Florida All Star Game. Gragera also played in the Nike Nationals AAU Tournament in 2015.
