Presbyterian College and head men’s basketball head coach Quinton Ferrell announced the signing of guard Michael Isler (Albany, Ga.) and forward Luka Jaksic (Woodstock, Ga.) to join the Blue Hose in the fall of 2019.

 

It brings the signing class to six with the earlier additions of guard Zeb Graham (Fort Mill, S.C.), guard Sean Jenkins (Spartanburg, S.C.), forward Owen McCormack (Advance, N.C.), and guard C.J. Melton (Hoover, Ala.)

 

Michael Isler - G - 6-4 - 185 – Albany, Ga./Westover

 

High School: Attended Westover High School ... He led the Region 1-4A in double-doubles for two years ... Team advanced to the 2016- 2017 Sweet Sixteen State Playoffs ... Was named 2017-2018 U Save It Most Outstanding Player and to the U Save It All Tournament Team, and was a second-team All-Area member ... Team was Region 2017-18 1-4A Region Champions and made it to the second round of the Starr Play-offs ... In 2018-2019 his team advanced to the first round of the state play-offs ... Team was 2019 MLK Classic Champ and a U Save It MVP ... 1-4A 1st Team All-Region Selection and Albany Herald Player of the Year ... Averaged a double-double his junior and senior year ...

 

Personal: Born in Albany, Ga., to Hillary Hudson and Michael Isler ... Chose PC because he felt he fit in ... Intends to major in Business Administration.

“Mike (Isler) is a young man who is very athletic, he has the chance to be one of the better athletes in the Big South from day one.  He brings a lot of versatility to the perimeter and paint.  He plays with great energy and effort on offense and defense.  Mike comes from a very good program at Westover high School down in Albany Ga., under the guidance of Coach Dallis Smith.  He was a multi-sport athlete at Westover, excelling as a member of the track and field team as well.  Mike will be a tremendous asset to PC both on and off the court.”

 

Luka Jaksic - F - 6-8 - 215 – Woodstock, Ga./Furtah Prep.

 

High School: As a basketball player his team made three state championships, winning two ... Also a goalkeeper, his soccer team earning a state championship ... Three-time Basketball All-State and All-Region selection ... Two-time soccer all-region and one-time all-state team member ... Scored over 1,500 points and over 500 rebounds in high school ... Was the valedictorian ...

 

Personal: Born in Zagreb, Croatia ... Parents are Vladimir and Victoria Jaksic ... Chose PC because it has a nice campus, great coaching staff, and is a good fit ... Intends to major in Psychology.

“Luka (Jaksic) is a very skilled big guy who will bring a lot of versatility to our basketball team.  He has the ability to make shots out to the three-point line, while also being able to put the ball on the floor to attack the basket.  Luka has a great understanding of the game and is a terrific passer.  He is from a great program at Furtah Prep in Acworth, Ga., under the leadership of Coach David Whitley, who won back to back state championships. Luka's success at the prep level will give him a solid foundation as he comes to the next level.  He will be a great success to PC both on and off the court.”
