The Presbyterian College men’s basketball team heads to the Bahamas to play a pair of exhibition games in the Summer of Thunder 2018 tournament. The team departs Saturday, August 11, and returns Friday, August 17.
PC will take on the Atlantis All-Stars Sunday, August 12, and the University of the Bahamas Tuesday, August 14. Both games will take place at Sir Kendall Isaacs Gym.
“This is a unique opportunity for us,” said head coach Dustin Kerns. “The NCAA allows programs to do this every four years and we’re very thankful for the opportunity. The 10 practices [have been] and the two games against professional teams [will be] huge for our program and young players.”
The Blue Hose will also be hosting a camp for children on Harbor Island on their trip. They will become the first college team to provide a clinic on the island.
“We’re excited to give back, but also to receive a true abroad experience. What we’re doing on this trip is bigger than basketball. It’s a chance for us to get perspective and really see how another country lives.”
