CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Presbyterian College sophomore right-hander Reagan Fowler (Loris, S.C.) was named the Big South Starting Pitcher of the Week for games played March 11-17, as announced by the conference office on Monday. This is Fowler's first career pitcher of the week honor.

Fowler was magnificent on Sunday as he tossed 6.0 shutout innings allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out a career-high 12 to lead PC to the 1-0 win over Radford and pick up the series win over the Highlanders. He racked up seven strikeouts in the first three innings and didn't allow a base runner until one out in the fifth inning. Fowler's 12 strikeouts were just one off the single game record in the D1 era for the Blue Hose as Brian Kehner against Campbell in 2016 and Bud Jeter in 2013 against High Point both hold the record with 13 strikeouts. Fowler along with the Presbyterian closer Colton Springs combined for a Blue Hose D1 record with 17 total strikeouts in Sunday's victory. Fowler and Springs combined on the first 1-0 Blue Hose shutout in the D1 era.

It's the first Blue Hose to earn pitcher of the week since 5/14/18 when Colton Springs was honored and Fowler is the first Blue Hose starting pitcher since Tanner Chock earned the honors in May of 2017.

Presbyterian hits the road tomorrow for a 6 p.m. first pitch against Davidson before returning home on Friday to open a three-game series with Gardner-Webb in Big South action.
