Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team will celebrate its Senior Weekend this weekend as the Blue Hose host their final pair of home matches in 2018. PC will face Gardner-Webb on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. in a match that will be streamed on ESPN+. The Blue Hose will take on Winthrop in a match that will be streamed on ESPN 3 on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. Senior festivities will take place prior to Saturday’s match.

The Blue Hose will be honoring four players before Saturday’s match. Jaclyn Brewington, Sierra Davis, Daley Gosnell, and Martina Shamley have all been a part of PC Volleyball for four seasons and have seen much improvement in their time in Clinton. The team’s win total doubled from their freshman to junior seasons, and that mark can still be improved upon this year.

Brewington has collected 1099 assists, 5th all-time in PC’s Division I era, and led the team last season with 654. Davis has recorded 481 kills and was the team leader with 314 as a sophomore in 2016. Gosnell sits 5th in the Blue Hose D-I era with 941 digs and is 2nd all-time in career digs per set, 3.56. Shamley has tallied 224 kills and picked up 76 total blocks.

Gardner-Webb is 7-18 overall this season, 1-11 in the Big South. Their lone conference win came when they defeated Hampton in four sets on October 12. Last weekend, GWU dropped a pair of matches to USC Upstate and UNC Asheville. The Blue Hose beat the Runnin’ Bulldogs in five sets in Boiling Springs on September 29.

Winthrop currently sits 3rd in the Big South Standings with an 8-4 record, 12-12 overall. The Eagles are coming off a split weekend where they were swept by UNC Asheville on Friday but defeated USC Upstate in four sets on Saturday. PC outlasted Winthrop in a five set battle in Rock Hill on September 28.
