DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Presbyterian College volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-17) decision to Davidson in its opening match of the Davidson Invitational on Friday night at Baker Sports Complex. PC slips to 2-6, while Davidson improves to 3-4.



-Sophomore Lauren Talbert topped the Blue Hose with eight kills, and also pitched in eight digs.

-Senior Erin Eulitz led PC with a match-high 18 digs, while junior Caroline Henderson added 11. Eulitz has registered double-figure digs in seven straight contests.

-Sophomore Erin Cooke (14) and junior Sierra Jones (11) both turned in double-digit assists for the eighth time in as many matches this season.

-Sophomore Trinity Williams racked up six kills, while junior Allie Wright chipped in five on a team-best .500 hitting percentage.


How it Happened

-In the opening set, Davidson jumped out to a 4-1 edge, but PC responded to draw even at 6-6.  The Blue Hose slowly built a 15-12 advantage, but an 8-2 Wildcats’ spurt put the hosts on top, 20-17. Davidson closed out the set with a 3-0 run.

-Davidson opened up a 7-2 lead in the second set, and maintained a comfortable margin throughout. The Blue Hose trimmed the gap to three on multiple occasions, but runs of 6-0 and 5-0 helped the Wildcats to a two-set advantage.

-The hosts begun the third set by racing out to a 5-0 lead. PC drew within three at 7-4, but could not get any closer in the final set.
