Last Time Out...

The Blue Hose capped their weekend at the Eagle Challenge in Morehead, Ky., with a sweep of Georgia State on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Erin Cooke posted her second double-double of the season (12 kills, 15 assists), while sophomore Lauren Talbert paced PC’s attack with a career-high tying 14 kills. Junior Sierra Jones handed out a team-high 22 assists, while senior Erin Eulitz led all players with 19 digs. Talbert was selected to the All-Tournament Team for the two-day event, averaging 10.7 kills/match, 3.6/set, and 5.7 digs/match over PC’s three contests.

Scouting the Terriers...

Wofford is coming off of its first victory of the campaign, a 3-0 win over N.C. Central at the Duke Invitational in Durham, N.C. Junior Riley Coonan was named to the All-Tournament Team, totaling 30 kills and 15 blocks over the Terriers’ four matches. Senior Catie Cronister leads Wofford in kills (69) and kills/set (2.9), and is also tied for tops on the team in digs (79). Over the weekend, Cronister recorded triple-doubles against Duke (20 kills, 11 assists, 12 digs) and UNCW (11 kills, 16 assists, 23 digs), and posted a double-double (17 kills, 14 digs) in the win over NCCU.

Last Meeting...

The Blue Hose edged the Terriers in five sets last year at the Templeton Center in Clinton. Wofford held a 2-1 advantage after the first three sets, but PC rallied to take the final two, 25-22 and 15-11. Five Blue Hose recorded seven or more kills in the contest, led by Sydney De Jong (14) and Erin Cooke (13). The victory snapped a five-game skid for PC in the series.

Eulitz Digging New Role...

Senior Erin Eulitz served as PC’s libero for the first time in her collegiate career for the final two matches at the season-opening Spartan-Demon Deacon Classic, and earned All-Tournament recognition, as well as the Big South Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week. Eulitz once again filled the libero role for the Blue Hose at the Eagle Challenge, racking up 50 digs (5.6/set). The Joliet, Ill., native leads the Big South in total digs (107) and digs/set (5.6). On Saturday, Eulitz also passed former Blue Hose Ashtin Frank (2011-14) for fifth in career digs in PC’s DI era (2007-present), and is seven shy of reaching 1,000 digs for her career.

Jones Reaches 1000...

With her 22 assists in Saturday’s win over Georgia State, junior Sierra Jones surpassed the 1,000 assist mark for her career. Jones is the sixth player in PC’s DI era to surpass 1,000 assists. She enters Wednesday 190 assists shy of cracking the top-5 in career assists in the DI era.
