CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College and head volleyball coach Korrinn Burgess announced the 2019 schedule Wednesday. The schedule consists of 28 regular season matches, including eight at home. The Blue Hose open the season with 15 road matches, which includes four tournaments.
“We’re very excited for the 2019 season,” said coach Burgess. “Starting out with 15 straight road contests will be a challenge, but it’s going to be great preparation for Big South play.”
PC opens the season Aug. 30-31, at the Spartan-Demon Deacon Classic, co-hosted by Wake Forest and UNCG. The Blue Hose open play against the Demon Deacons on Friday, before facing UNCG and North Carolina Central on Saturday.
The team then travels to Kentucky to take part in the Eagle Challenge, hosted by Morehead State, Sept. 6-7. PC faces the Eagles and Providence on Friday, and Georgia State on Saturday.
The Blue Hose return to South Carolina Sept. 11, for a match at Wofford before heading to Davidson for the Davidson Invitational Sept. 13-14. PC faces the Wildcats on Friday, and then battle UNC Wilmington and North Carolina Central on Saturday.
PC plays in its final regular season tournament at the SIU Edwardsville Tournament Sept. 20-21. The Blue Hose face Central Arkansas and Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, and then take on the Cougars Saturday.
Big South play begins the weekend of Sept. 27-28, with PC opening with trips to Winthrop and Gardner-Webb.
The Blue Hose finally come home for an eight-match home stand which lasts the entire month of October. The home stand begins on Oct 4, against Charleston Southern, followed by the final non-conference tilt of the season against Florida A&M the next day.
PC welcomes High Point and Radford the next weekend, Oct. 11-12, followed by Hampton and Campbell in Clinton Oct. 18-19.
The Blue Hose conclude their home slate with rematches against Winthrop and Gardner-Webb on Oct. 25-26.
PC finishes the regular season with five straight road contests, beginning with visits to USC Upstate and UNC Asheville Nov. 1-2. Following a rematch with Charleston Southern on Nov. 8, the Blue Hose close the regular season with trips to Radford and High Point Nov. 15-16.
The Big South Conference tournament runs Nov. 22-24, at Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C.
