Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s and women’s tennis teams will open their Big South schedules tomorrow when both teams host Hampton. The women’s match will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the men’s is set to start at 2:00 p.m.
The women’s team defeated Lee last Saturday, 5-2, but was beaten by #24 Tennessee 4-0 on Sunday. PC’s match with Wofford, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed to Friday, March 1 because of inclement weather.
The men’s team also best Lee last weekend, 6-1, but the Blue Hose fell to Coastal Carolina, 4-2, on the same day. PC made a trip to Athens, Ga. on Thursday but were defeated 7-0 by the #24 Bulldogs.
The Hampton women’s team is 0-2 to begin the season. They were defeated by Temple and Old Dominion the weekend of January 12-13. The Lady Pirates have not had a match since.
Hampton’s men’s team is 0-3, 0-1 in the Big South, to start the year. The Pirates have been swept in all three of their losses to Richmond, Big South foe Winthrop, and James Madison.
It will be a quick turnaround for the PC women’s team, as they will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. to take on the Owls on Sunday. The men’s team will face their second straight Big South opponent on Wednesday afternoon when the Spartans of USC Upstate visit Clinton.
