CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College freshman tennis player Daniel Stenger was named the Big South Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced on Wednesday. Stenger was previously honored back on February 7.

Stenger went 5-1 overall last week, including a flawless 3-0 mark in singles play, as PC went 2-1 across three Big South matches. The rookie, playing all three singles matches at No. 5, won in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1, at UNC Asheville to start the week.

He followed up that performance with a pair of wins at home, recording a three-set victory, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5, against Longwood and a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Radford on back-to-back days. The native of Mexico City, Mexico has now won his last five singles matches and is unbeaten at 5-0 in Big South play.

Stenger also managed victories in two of his three doubles matches on the week, playing at No. 3 with Will Baird. The two recorded a 6-1 win against Longwood on Friday, before a 6-2 win against Radford on Saturday, as PC took the doubles point en route to victories in both matches.

Stenger is the first PC freshman to earn multiple Big South Freshman of the Week honors since 2015, when current teammates Alejandro Bejar and Brandon Mills each received the award twice.
