CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team returns home to face South Carolina on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Templeton Tennis Courts. PC enters the match with a 6-8 record, while the Bulldogs sit at 3-6 on the season.
PC is led by seniors Ben Kelley and Joel Roberts in both singles and doubles play. Kelley has compiled a 10-2 record and Roberts a 7-4 mark, while the two have teamed up for a 9-4 record in doubles action. As a team, doubles has been the strong point for PC this year, going 27-12 (.692) in the two-player matches.
PC and SC State last met in 2015 with the Bulldogs claiming the 5-2 win in Clinton, S.C. Alejandro Bejar recorded PC’s lone point in singles in that match, recording a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 5 as a freshman. Presbyterian’s last win in the series came one year earlier in 2014 with a 4-3 win in Clinton. The Blue Hose swept doubles play in that match, while Diego Manzanas won one of the three singles wins for PC with a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 6.
