MACON, Ga. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team fell to Mercer, 4-1, in both matches of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon in Macon, Ga. The Blue Hose fall to 6-7 on the year, while the Bears improve to 8-2 and have now won seven straight.

In the opening match of the day, PC claimed the doubles point by taking the matches at No. 1 and 2. Ben Kelley and Joel Roberts recorded a 6-3 victory at No. 1. Brandon Mills and Alexander Lykou combined for a 7-5 win on court two to clinch the point. The remaining was tied 6-6 but went unfinished. Mercer took the first four singles matches to clinch the victory with the final two going unfinished.

In the latter match, Mercer would take the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. Kelley claimed PC’s lone singles win of the day with a 6-4, 7-6 win on court four. Mercer claimed courts one through three, though, to win the second match by the same score of 4-1 with the remaining two matches going unfinished.

The Blue Hose return to action on Thursday against Stetson in Deland, Fla. at 3 p.m.
