CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team and first-year head coach Eduardo Rincon are set to play in five individual tournaments this fall, beginning on Friday with the Seahawk Fall Invite in Wilmington, N.C.

 

Seven Blue Hose are set to compete in this weekend’s event, six of which are returning from last year’s squad which went 13-14 overall and reached the Big South Championship Quarterfinals. The six returning players to take the court are sophomores Oscar Alvarez, Jonathan Bedard, and Max Benson, juniors Alberto Conde and Daniel Stenger, and senior Jaime Castillo-Lopez.

 

Joining those seven is recent addition Teo Cariov. A 6-2 freshman from Boulder, Colo., Cariov comes to PC as the third-ranked player in the state of Colorado, and fourth-ranked player in the Mountain Region. This weekend’s event marks his first collegiate competition.

 

Following the Seahawk Fall Invite, the Blue Hose head to Belton, S.C., from Oct. 4-6 for the South Carolina Intercollegiate Championship. The event is slated to feature players from several schools across the state, including Clemson, Furman, Lander, Newberry, and South Carolina.

 

Next up is the ITA Carolina Regional Championship, which is to be hosted by Duke in Durham, N.C., from Oct. 18-22.

 

Presbyterian then hosts the Big South Fall Invitational from Oct. 25-27. The event will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw of top players from across the conference.

 

The Blue Hose conclude their fall slate with the Samford Invitational in Pelham, Ala., from Nov. 8-10.
