Greenville, S.C. – Presbyterian College’s Ben Pirro finished the second round of the 50th Annual Furman Intercollegiate tied for eighth place with a two-day score of 142 (72, 70) and two strokes off third place. The Blue Hose remained tied for 8th in a field of 20 teams with a combined score of 589 (296, 293). The Paladins are hosting the 54-hole event at the par-71, 6984-yard Furman GC.

Headed into the 16th hole at +1, Pirro birdied the last two holes to reach 70 (-1) on the day and climb up 12 spots on the leaderboard.

Charlie Tate (t34) improved to 146 (74, 72) and carded a team-high six birdies during round two. Cole Patterson (t38) finished one stroke behind at 147 (73, 74). AJ Nolin (t89) shot 154 (77, 77), and Nat Simkins (117th) carded 168 (86, 82) to round out the team on Saturday.

Coastal Carolina jumped into first place with a two-day score of 561. The Chanticleers’ Wes Artac and Furman’s Keller Harper are tied for medalist honors at 133.

The final round is set to begin with a 9:00 am shotgun start on Sunday morning.
