GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team ended the first day of the 49th annual Furman Intercollegiate in 21st place with a team score of 314. Carson Spears and Weston Sanders tied to lead PC on the day with scores of 75 (+3) at the Furman Golf Course.
Spears and Sanders combined to card five birdies and 19 pars to tie for 69th on Furman's (par-72) 7,031-yard course. John David Chambers, Harrison Fisher, and Haydon Norwood all tied for 103rd with scores of 80.
North Florida's Phillip Knowles is in first place after an opening round of 66 (-6). The Ospreys also have a five-stroke lead for first place (278).
