SPARTANBURG, SC – Play has been suspended at the Wofford Invitational due to weather. Players nearly finished the first 18 holes at the Country Club of Spartanburg before a rain delay pulled them from the course around 1 pm. After a brief meeting, it was decided to resume the first round on Tuesday morning at 9:30 am.

More notably, senior Hayden Ploeger has a two-stroke lead over the field through 15 holes. He has recorded an eagle, 4 birdies and 10 pars on the par-72 course (6,648 yds). Ploeger is on pace to challenge his collegiate-best (-4) and the school record (-8) for a single round.

It was also decided to shorten the tournament to 36 holes. The staff will repair the course on Tuesday morning before the teams resume play at 9:30 am. The final round is set to tee off at noon.
