NINETY SIX, SC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team tied for 8th at the Big South Championship on Sunday with a team score of 912 (302, 299, 311). Weston Sanders led the Blue Hose on the par-72, 7120-yard course at The Patriot Golf Club.

Sanders shot 226 (73, 71, 82) to fall out of the top-10 during the last round and finish 24th. The junior led PC with 33 pars and seven birdies over the three-day tournament. John David Chambers finished 30th at 229 (77, 75, 77). Carson Spears and Ben Pirro tied for 31st at 230. Brody Boston tied for 42nd at 240 (83, 78, 79).

The Blue Hose had two players record eagles during Saturday’s second round. Chambers recorded an eagle on the par-5 hole No. 8 (527 yards), while Pirro recorded an eagle on the par-4 hole No. 6 (363 yards).

Liberty won the team title with a combined score of 848, while High Point’s Brendan MacDougall won individual medalist honors at 203 (-13). The Flames will the Big South’s automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. Full results can be viewed here.

As a part of the post tournament awards, senior Carson Spears was named to the Big South’s All-Academic Team.
