NINETY SIX, SC – Presbyterian College ended the first round of the Big South Men’s Golf Championship on Friday with a pair of golfers in the top-10 and a team score of 302. Weston Sanders and Ben Pirro are leading the seventh place Blue Hose at The Patriot Golf Club (par-72, 7120 yards).
Sanders tied for 7th after an opening round of 73. Pirro finished just one stroke back, at 74, tied for 10th. John David Chambers shot 77, Carson Spears shot 78, and Brody Boston rounded out the team at 83.
Gardner-Webb combined to shoot 291 to take a two-stroke lead over Campbell and Charleston Southern. The Bucs’ Jacques Wilson shot 67 (-5) to take a three-stroke lead into the second round.
PC will tee off for the second round at 8:00 am on Saturday beginning on hole No. 1. Admission is free, and fans can follow along via Golfstat's live scoring feature.
