Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team will host Campbell this weekend for a three-game series. The series with the Camels is scheduled to begin with a single game beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. A doubleheader is slated to conclude the set, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday

The Blue Hose are 11-35-2 on the season after falling to Appalachian State in a non-conference contest on Tuesday afternoon, 4-1. Taylor Ward pitched her 11th complete game of the season in the defeat. PC holds a 1-17 Big South record this year.


Jonnie Petree leads the Blue Hose bats with a .354 batting average and has scored a team-high 26 runs. Her 30 stolen bases on the campaign leads the Big South and ranks 9th in the nation. Ansley Wilbanks has collected a team-high 53 hits this year which ties her for 4th in the conference and 38th in the country. Chelsea Lyons paces PC with a .420 on-base percentage and is batting .309. Courtney White tops the team with a .469 slugging percentage and 15 extra base hits (11 2B, 3 HR, 3B). Kiley Kross leads the team with 24 RBIs and is batting .281 for the season.


Taylor Ward has made the most appearances in the circle for the Blue Hose, 31, and has started 22 games this year. The freshman has picked up four wins and holds a 5.39 ERA in her 102.2 innings of worked. Alyssa Batastini has picked up the most wins, six, and has the lowest ERA, 4.32, for PC this season.


Campbell is 19-26 on the season after falling to North Carolina in non-conference action on Wednesday night. The Camels moved to 9-9 in Big South action after being swept by USC Upstate two weekends ago.


Five Campbell batters are hitting at or above .300, with Kynadi Tipler leading the way at .375. The team currently holds a .288 batting average for the year. Megan Richards leads Campbell with 12 wins in 142.1 innings pitched and has a 4.93 ERA. Haley Hutchins has also seen a lot of time in the circle, holding a 5.99 ERA over 124.2 innings of work while picking up seven wins.
