Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team is scheduled to play their final road series of the regular season this weekend at Gardner-Webb. PC is scheduled to face the Runnin’ Bulldogs in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m. and then will conclude the series with a single game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

PC is now 10-32-2 on the year, 0-15 in conference action. A quartet of seniors lead the Blue Hose offense this season. Jonnie Petree holds the team’s highest batting average, .362, has scored the most runs, 25, and has stolen the most bases in the Big South, 29. Ansley Wilbanks has tallied a team-high 52 hits, fourth most in conference, on the season and her average sits just behind Petree’s at .361. Chelsea Lyons leads the squad with a .426 on-base percentage and is currently batting .315. Casey Gerhard has launched a team-high three home runs. Freshman Kiley Kross has driven in the most runs, 20, and junior Courtney White leads the team in slugging percentage, .440, and extra base hits, 13.

 

Alyssa Batastini has seen the bulk of the time in the circle for the Blue Hose this season. The redshirt junior has made 29 appearances (24 starts) and pitched 141 innings. She has earned six wins and holds a 4.32 ERA and a .276 batting average against. Taylor Ward has recorded four victories for PC this year. The freshman has made 28 appearances (19 starts) and has a 4.96 ERA and .298 batting average against.

 

Gardner-Webb is 24-21 this season, 3-12 in Big South play after being swept by USC Upstate last weekend. Conference wins for the Runnin’ Bulldogs came against Radford on March 23, Winthrop on March 29, and Campbell on April 2. Gardner-Webb has a .288 team batting average, highlighted by Andria Booth’s .396 average. Brooke Perry and Autumn Owen have both batted in over 40 runs. Perry is also the leading pitched for the Runnin’ Bulldogs with a 14-10 record to go along with her 2.78 ERA in 158.2 innings pitched. The team’s ERA currently sits at 3.84.
