Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team will travel to Savannah State for a doubleheader on Tuesday. The Blue Hose and the Tigers will play their first contest at 4:00 p.m. and the second game will begin shortly after the conclusion of the first.
PC is 6-16-2 on the season after picking up a pair of wins against La Salle on the weekend at the JU/UNF Spring Break Challenge. Chelsea Lyons collected seven hits on the weekend, with three multi-hit games. She now leads the team with a .389 batting average, .507 on-base percentage, and 13 walks. Ansley Wilbanks and Jonnie Petree’s batting averages also sit above .300 at .359 and .310, respectively. Wilbanks holds the team lead with 28 hits and 13 runs batted in. Petree has a team-high 14 stolen bases.
Alyssa Batastini picked up the pair of wins for the Blue Hose against the Explorers, and now has five on the year. She has thrown 86.1 innings and holds a 4.14 ERA and a .262 batting average against. Taylor Ward pitched her second complete game of the season in PC’s 2-1 loss to North Florida on Sunday. She allowed only six hits in the defeat.
Following the doubleheader with the Tigers, the Blue Hose will open their Big South schedule with a three-game set at USC Upstate. All three match-ups are going to be live streamed on the Big South Network on ESPN+. PC is scheduled to play a doubleheader against the Spartans on Saturday, with the first game starting at 1:00 p.m., and then a single game on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
