Radford, Va. – Radford hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first and that was all the runs it would need in game one of a three game series. The Highlanders took game one 2-1. Ansley Wilbanks and Megan Anderson each finished 2-3 on the afternoon as the Blue Hose outhit the Highlanders 6-4.
Player of the Game
Wilbanks went 2-3 with a run scored while Anderson also went 2-3, Macy Hyatt had a hit with an RBI. Kaylee Allen and Alex Cook combined to allow only four hits in six innings with five strikeouts and two walks.
Stat of the Game
PC outhit Radford 6-4 and each team had one error on the afternoon.
The Blue Hose got on the board first in the top of first inning. Wilbanks singled and reached second on a throwing error, she was then singled home by Hyatt. Talia Douglas answered the Blue Hose run in the top of the first with a two-run home run in the bottom half of the inning.
The second, third and fourth innings were easy for both pitchers as they put up zeros in all innings. Allen ran into trouble in the bottom of the fifth as she allowed a single, then a walk and another single to load the bases with one out. Cook came on with one out and got a line-out and a fielder’s choice ground out to get out of the inning without allowing a run.
Cook came in and threw 1.2 innings with a pair of strikeouts. All three runs were scored in the first inning as the rest of the game was all pitching and defense.

PC moves to 3-41 while Radford is 30-15.
This was Anderson’s eighth multi-hit game of the season.
This was Wilbanks’ fifth multi-hit game this season.
Cook came in and threw the final 1.2 innings and had two strikeouts with no walks or hits allowed.
