The Presbyterian College softball team travels to Buies Creek, N.C., April 20-21, to take on the Campbell Camels in a three-game Big South series. The two teams take to the diamond in a single game Friday at 5 p.m., that will be shown live on the Big South Network. PC and Campbell face off in a doubleheader Saturday at 2 p.m. The first game Saturday will be shown live on ESPN3.
The Camels are 22-23 overall and 9-9 in the Big South. They have won four in a row including a 3-2 win over #12 South Carolina this past Wednesday. Rachel McCollum is one of two players batting over .300 with her 3.92. She leads the team in hits with 56, doubles with 14, home runs with 16, and RBI with 46. Caroline Smith is second in batting average with .338. Megan Richards is the ace in the circle for the Camels. She carries a 3.65 ERA in 128.1 innings of work. She has struck out 91 and batters are averaging .214 against her.
The Blue Hose are 3-37 overall and 1-14 in the Big South. They are led by Macy Hyatt on offense with a .311 batting average and 33 hits. Megan Anderson is second in batting average with .262. She leads the team in RBI with 17, doubles with eight, and total bases with 38. Jonnie Petree is third with a .252 batting average. She leads the squad with her 14-of-16 stolen bases. Alex Cook and Kaylee Allen have split up most of the pitching duties for PC, with Cook throwing for 91.0 innings, and Allen 99.1. Cook leads in strikeouts with 48, with Cook tops in appearances with 29.
PC is next in action April 25, as the team hosts S.C. State in a 2 p.m., doubleheader. This game was rescheduled from April 4th, due to inclement weather. The Blue Hose round out the regular season at Radford April 27-28.
