The Presbyterian College softball team scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie and take the 7-5 win in Big South action Friday afternoon at the PC Softball Complex in Clinton, S.C. Megan Anderson put PC up early with a two-run home run in the first inning.

Players of the Game
Leading PC in hits was Blaire Miller with two, with Anderson pacing the team in RBI with two. With a hit apiece were Jonnie Petree, Anderson, Presley Bissett,, Madison Longanecker, Jenna Harris and Lindsay Harris. Miller, Rogers and Harris posted a RBI each as well. Alex Cook started for PC, going 5.0 innings, surrendering eight hits and four runs. Katie Brown came in relief for 2.0 innings, giving up one run off four hits for the win (7-12).

Maddi Johnson led Gardner Webb with three hits and two RBI. Mackenzie Thompson earned the loss (3-14), after going 2.0 innings and giving up three runs and four hits.

Scoring the Game
Anderson put PC on the board in the first inning with a two-run home run, her fifth of the season. Jenna Harris' RBI bunt single sent home Sanchez to make it 3-0 after the second inning.

A RBI double from Johnson cut the lead to 3-1, with a Megan Champion RBI single in the fifth made it 3-2, PC. GWU tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the sixth, the fourth run off a bases loaded single by Alia Booth.

PC responded with three in the bottom of the frame to take a 7-4 lead. Longanecker started things off with a base hit down the left field line, with Lindsay Harris sending her to third off a double to left. On the next play Longanecker came home off an error by GWU.

After Petree reached base, Miller sent her to third off a RBI single that also plated Harris. The next at-bat Rogers hit a RBI groundout to score Petree for the seventh run.

A RBI single from Johnson made it 7-5 but Brown forced two groundouts to end the threat and the game with PC up 7-5.

Line Scores
PC finished with seven runs off eight hits, with no errors, while stranding six runners. Gardner-Webb finished with five runs off 12 hits, with four errors. The Runnin' Bulldogs left 11 on base.
