CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Presbyterian College sophomore goalkeeper Jan Hoffelner (Langen, Germany) has been named the Big South’s Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season, it was announced today by the conference office.

Hoffelner posted back-to-back clean sheets and added two victories between the posts last week. The sophomore made two saves in all three of his appearances and allowed just one goal in a 1-0 setback to nationally-ranked High Point. Against Gardner-Webb last Saturday, both of his saves came in the second half to help preserve the shutout.

The Blue Hose won a program-best five Big South games this season and earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Big South Tournament. They will host No. 6 seeded Longwood on Sunday, November 4, at 6 p.m.
