CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College men's soccer played its best game of the spring season and came up with a 2-2 result against South Carolina on Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.  Freshman Bryron Quinatoa scored both goals for the Blue Hose on the night.

South Carolina struck first with a goal after just 15 minutes.  Ten minutes later, Quinatoa's rocket from inside the 18-yard box leveled the teams at 1-1.  The score would stay that way into the intermission.

Early in the second period, defensive miscues allowed the Gamecock's second goal of the night to cross the line.  An own goal was recorded as the Blue Hose passed the ball across the face of goal and pressure forced the ball to be misplayed into the net.

It was the offense that responded by taking the ball right back down the field.  A cross from the right side came to the Blue Hose at the far post and a centering pass was made to Quinatoa at the top of the 18.  His first shot was blocked but the rebound came back to the freshman midfielder.  The second shot found its way through the defenders and bulged the net to bring the teams level yet again.

South Carolina was in search of their third about 15 minutes from time when a careless challenge inside the box gave the Gamecocks a spot kick.  Goalkeeper James Neal guessed right and made the save to deny South Carolina's third goal of the night.

The exhibition match finished at a 2-2 draw.

PC will close out the spring campaign on April 8 with a home match against Erskine starting at 7 p.m.
