CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College wide receiver DaShawn Davis highlighted seven Blue Hose being named to Phil Steele’s 2018 Preseason All-Big South Team, announced on Friday. Davis was named to the second team as a wide receiver and the third team as a punt returner.

Defensive lineman Gyasi Yeldell was selected to the second team, while tight end Riley Hilton, defensive lineman Marquise Inabinet, defensive backs Dirk Cureton and Michael Fisher as well as offensive lineman Tobias Hagins earned third team honors.

PC opens the 2018 campaign on September 8th when it travels to Austin Peay for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Governors.

DaShawn Davis, WR, Second Team; PR, Third Team

Davis led PC last year in both receptions (41) and receving yards (490) which earned him second team All-Big South honors last season. The junior receiver is the first PC player with at least 40 receptions in consecutive season since Tobi Antigha did so in 2013-14. He finished the year with three touchdown receptions, the most since 2013 when two players had at least three, led by Antigha with six.

Gyasi Yeldell, DL, Second Team

The Redshirt senior finished last season with 47 tackles, most by a defensive lineman, including 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He was one of four defensive players to play and start in all 11 games last season for PC. He recorded a career-high seven tackles against Cumberland, while adding six apiece against Charleston Southern and Kennesaw State.

Riley Hilton, TE, Third Team

Hilton was named to the Big-South honorable mention already this preseason. Hilton proved to be a reliable asset in the passing game for PC last season after missing all of 2016 due to injury, as he hauled in 11 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown. He recorded multiple receptions in a game on four different occasions, while recording a season-high 27 yards against the Citadel.

Marquise Inabinet, DL, Third Team

Inabinet had 23 tackles last season as he saw action in all 11 games with starts coming in three of those contests. He recorded a career-high eight tackles against the Citadel last season.

Dirk Cureton, DB, Third Team

The Blue Hose cornerback finished the 2017 campaign with 47 tackles, tied for the fifth-most on the team. Cureton also recorded five pass breakups, two forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He set a career-high with 12 tackles last season at Liberty. Cureton forced a pair of fumbles and recovered a fumble against Gardner-Webb in last year’s season finale.

Michael Fisher, DB, Third Team

Fisher finished the year with 45 tackles, including three tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. He set a career-high with 10 tackles at Wake Forest last season. He added eight tackles on two separate occasions against Cumberland and Monmouth.

Tobias Hagins, OL, Third Team

The senior lineman played in 10 games while making eight starts during 2017. He was a part of a PC offensive line that allowed the second fewest sacks in the Big South. He helped Torrance Marable rush for over 1,000 yards and lead the Big South in rushing yards.
