KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – The Presbyterian College women’s golf team will compete at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic from February 25-27 at the Osprey Point and Oak Point Golf Courses of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. It will be their first tournament of 2018.
Dubbed the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country, the field remains at 43 teams this year. Both courses are par-72 with Oak Point measuring 5,941 yards and Osprey Point measuring 5,964 yards. After alternating courses on Sunday and Monday, the top-22 teams will play the final round at Osprey Point on Tuesday while teams 23-43 will finish at Oak Point.
Last season the Blue Hose recorded their lowest 54-hole tally for the tournament with a score of 950 (324, 318, 308). Their highest finish came in 2013 when they shot 965 to finish 22nd.
Standouts Celia Mansour and Maiken Bing Paulsen continue to lead PC this season. Mansour recorded two top-10 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the Terrier Intercollegiate, during the fall season. Paulsen recorded three top-10 finishes and carded a 54-hole best of 219 (75, 71, 73) at the Pinehurst Challenge.
Ann Elizabeth Gore, Serina Combs, and Rylie Marchman will round out the team, with newcomer Sydney Abruzzino competing as an individual.
