CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian College had 172 student-athletes named to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll, as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

PC had eight student-athletes finish the academic year with a 4.0 gpa with softball, women’s basketball and men’s soccer each claiming two such student-athletes. Softball’s Hope Rogers and Erin Ruff, women’s basketball’s Janie Miles and Cortney Storey and men’s soccer players Jonathan Turnley and Thomas Valente led the way for their respective teams with their 4.0 gpa’s. Hayden Caraway of football and Abigail Waldron of women’s cross country also earned a 4.0 gpa this year.    

The men’s tennis team finished as the top tennis program in the conference, with Diego Manzanas highlighting the program as the Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Nine members of the team made the list.

Football had the most student-athletes on the list with 35, with baseball coming in second with 21, and women’s soccer rounded out the top three with 19. At least two student-athletes from each team made the list.

To be named to the Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better for the recently-completed academic year.
