Dear Cheerleader:

As the Presbyterian College cheerleading coach, I would like to thank you for expressing an interest in collegiate cheerleading.  I hope the following information will be helpful in answering some of your questions about the cheerleading program.

Tryouts will be held at the Templeton Gym on Sunday April 17th at 10 a. m.  Cheerleaders should report the gym at 9:30am for registration.

The coed team will have 12-14 members and the all-girl team will have 14.

The coaching staff will teach the required chant, cheer, and dance you will be evaluated on during tryouts.

Stunts will also be practiced.  Please be ready to show all tumbling skills.

Cheerleaders will cheer at all home  football games as well as select away games.  For basketball, the squads will alternate cheering for both men's and women's home games.

The squads will compete this year in a few area competitions, which will be held in the spring.  This past year the squads performed at local elementary schools, parades, and other events on campus and in the community and the expectation is that will continue this coming academic year.

Presbyterian College does offer cheerleading scholarships.  The amount that is given to each cheerleader is based on tryout scores.

The squad operates on a budget that includes the cost of uniforms, equipment, and travel.

Each Cheerleader will be responsible for the cost of camp, which is approximately $250.00 dollars.  Attendance at summer camp is mandatory.

Please contact me if you have any further questions.  My email address is laddison@presby.edu or call 864-938-3726.

Again, I'm excited with the interest we have in the upcoming tryouts and I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Laurie Addison
Cheer and Dance Coach
