Charleston, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose (2-7-0, 0-2-0 Big South) women’s soccer team fell by a 3-1 score versus the Charleston Southern Buccaneers (4-5-1, 2-0-0 Big South) on Wednesday evening.
How it happened:
The first half was controlled by the Buccaneers. Charleston Southern could not score for the first 30 minutes of game time but were finally able to take a 1-0 lead at the 29:28 mark of the first half.
The Buccaneers had corner kick after corner kick in the first half but PC was able to keep them off the board on the corner kicks. The Blue Hose were able to get on the board via a free kick by Kelsey Yeager that was saved, Kristen Bane collected the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1.
Charleston Southern quickly retook the lead at the 34:57 mark of the first half as they hit a shot from 20 yards out.
CSU finished the first half with a 9-3 advantage in shots and 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
The Blue Hose and Buccaneers played a competitive second half. PC played a more aggressive second half but could not take advantage of their opportunities. Charleston Southern would make it 3-1 with 5:10 to play in the game and that would be the final.
