Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose (2-5-0) women’s soccer team fell by a 1-0 score to the Mercer Bears (5-4-0) on Friday night at Martin Stadium. The game was scoreless through the first 83 minutes before the Bears were able to find the back of the net.

How it happened:

The Blue Hose and Bears played a tough game Friday night that saw the stats fairly even on both sides. The Blue Hose had an advantage in the first half in shots but PC was unable to put any in the back of the net. The remainder of the half was back and forth, PC finished with an 8-3 advantage in shots but only the one by Whitesides was on target.

The second half was much the same as the first half but with Mercer being the more aggressive team as they finished the second half with a 10-5 advantage in shots.

Finally, at the 83:06 mark the Bears found the back of the net after a save by sophomore goal keeper Abby Jones was knocked loose inside the Blue Hose box the Bears gathered it and put it in the back of the net.

PC tried to mount a rally in the final minutes of play but were unable to score the equalizer in the remaining minutes.
