CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s soccer rallied from a two-goal deficit to down Charleston Southern 3-2 on Wednesday night at Martin Stadium.

How it Happened

The first half proved to be an explosive one on the scoring front. Charleston Southern opened the scoring in the seventh minute of action on a header from close range. The Buccaneer’s extended their lead to 2-0 in the 11th minute on a goal from about 15 yards out. The Blue Hose began to rally back with a goal of their own in the 23rd minute from Kristen Peagler on a rocket from about 25 yards away from the goal. Peagler tied the game up at 2-2 just three minutes later when a Stephanie Lee corner kick found Peagler’s head, who put the ball in the back of the net. PC rounded off the first half scoring in the 42nd minute when a free kick from Kelsey Yeager bounced over the head of the keeper, where Ashlynn Powell finished it off with a header for the goal.

Peagler scored two goals on six shots, including three on goal.

Stat of the Game

Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Leaman earned her first collegiate victory in the win.


PC improves to 3-10-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the Big South, while Charleston Southern falls to 6-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play.
