SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s soccer team downed USC Upstate 2-1 on the road Friday evening.

How it Happened

USC Upstate tallied the first goal of the night in the 21st minute when ball was headed into the goal after a free kick. PC evened things up in the 28th minute when Maddy Clark passed the ball to Frances Whitesides who scored into the right side of the net. The Blue Hose took the lead in the 76th minute when Samantha Fink headed the ball into the net off of a deflection. Kristen Peagler was credited with the assist on the goal.

Woman of the Match

Fink scored the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute of action to give the Blue Hose their second victory of the year.

Stat of the Game

Both teams recorded an even 10 shots to go with the three goals total.


PC improves to 2-5-0, while USC Upstate falls to 0-8-2.

The Blue Hose will continue the road trip on Sunday when they take on nationally ranked ACC member Clemson on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
