CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College men’s and women’s soccer student-athletes and coaches went to work last week with spades and shovels to begin a planting beautification project at Martin Stadium.

With a generous donation by alumnus Dr. Bob Edens, coupled with the work of PC soccer community, the 2012 edition of the Stadium Improvement Project saw student-athletes install 60 Confederate jasmine plants and 10 Leyland cypress trees along the back fence of the stadium.

The Stadium Improvement Project began in 2010 and each class is asked to organize a project to enhance the soccer facility. Last year, the programs added a new sound system and this year featured improvements to landscaping.

“This donation and project will help frame our stadium better and give a more intimate atmosphere for all our home matches,” said men’s head soccer coach Bret Boulware.  “We are really excited about being able to better our facility and really enhance the game experience.”
