Newell, Trail Named To All-Academic Teams
Newell (Inman, S.C.) is a biochemistry major with a double minor in biology and chemistry. She has been named to the Dean's List and the Big South Presidential Honor Roll all six semesters of college. The summer before her junior year she completed honors research in chemistry. Newell was voted captain her junior and senior seasons and holds PC's school record for the 4k (17:17). She had her best season as a senior, running a collegiate PR of 21:12 at the Charlotte Invitational.
Trail (Marion, S.C.) is an English major with an art minor. He is involved in several campus clubs as well as being "Scotty the Scotsman," PC's mascot at all major events. Trail is a three-time Dean's List recipient and also completed honors research in chemistry last summer at PC. He too had his best season yet, setting a new personal best at the 2011 Championship at 31:00.
Fraser is a senior majoring in Global Trade at High Point. She is a three-time Millis Scholar-Athlete and Big South Presidential Honor Roll member. At the 2011 Championship, she finished tenth overall with a time of 18:14.
Darmody is a senior majoring in exercise science at High Point. He also is a three-time Millis Scholar-Athlete and Big South Presidential Honor Roll member. At the 2011 Championships, Darmody repeated his junior performance, again finishing fourth, but this time in 24:28.
