High Point, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team fell to #24 High Point on Saturday afternoon, 26-3. The Panthers were led by Abby Hormes’ 10-point day (4G-6A). Freshman Madison Berg led the Blue Hose with a goal and an assist, while Sarah Marshall and Ryann Doyle also scored goals for PC.

Scoring the Game

After five High Point goals over the game’s first six minutes, Marshall scored her 22nd of the season at 23:47 off an assist from Kelly Hyman to make it 5-1. It was all Panthers for the rest of the first half, as High Point took a 17-1 lead into the break.

The Panthers extended their lead further with a 4-0 run to start the second half. Berg broke it up with her sixth of the year at 16:25 to make it 21-2. Doyle then ended another 4-0 run by High Point with her first collegiate goal at 6:09 off an assist from Berg. A final goal was scored by the home team with 2:42 remaining to reach 26-3.

Presbyterian College moves to 1-12 (0-3 Big South), while High Point improves to 9-4 (3-0).

Stats of the Game

High Point led in draw controls, 26-4, shots on goal, 30-8, and recorded 20 assists on their 26 goals. The Panthers forced 13 of the 18 PC turnovers, while the Blue Hose forced seven of the 15 High Point turnovers. Groundballs were tied at 16.


Hudson Roarick caused two turnovers to reach 68 in her career. She was one shy of her collegiate-best which she's achieved nine times.

Paige Gacek led the team with four groundballs and fell one shy of her personal best.

Alyssa Cooke tied her collegiate-best with three groundballs.
