CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s basketball collected the first win of the season, 95-56, over Warren Wilson in the home opener at the Templeton Center. Five Blue Hose recorded double digit points, while Salina Virola registered the first double-double of the season.
The Blue Hose went to 1-2 on the season, while the Owls fell to 5-3 on the year. Virola (Huntsville, Ala.) led PC in scoring and rebounds for the second straight game with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Owls had three players score in double digits, Jada McCrimmon led the way with 21 points and grabbed two rebounds. Raven Mobley provided 13 points and four steals, while Danasia Dumas produced 11 points and pulled down six rebounds.
The Blue Hose held the Owls to 35.2 percent (19-of-54) shooting from the floor, while the Owls made 92.3 percent (12-of-13) from the free-throw line. PC forced Warren Wilson into 28 turnovers and dished 20 assists.
The Owls generated a 39-38 bench points advantage, while the Blue Hose owned a 48-10 points in the paint surplus.
Presbyterian travels for an 11:30 a.m. matchup against East Carolina on Friday in Greenville, N.C.
