Down by double-digits late in the second half, the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team rallied to within six a minute and half to go, but it would the Campbell Camels that would come out on top at the end, 69-58, in Big South action Saturday afternoon in Buies Creek, N.C. Reggie Dillard led the Blue Hose with 14 points as PC hit eight three-pointers, third highest of the season. Jo'Vontae Millner added a team-high eight rebounds.
Stat of the Game
Campbell held PC, which outshot the Camels, 50-49, to 36% from the field, while hitting 44.9%. The Blue Hose were solid from the perimeter in the first have five threes, but were held to just three in the second. Free throws were also a factor as Campbell went 20-of-22, including 12 in the final five minutes. PC was 14-of-17.
Player of the Game
Darius Moore kept PC in the game in the first half, helping the Blue Hose make it a one-point game with 13:44 to go, off back to back to back three-pointers. He finished the game with 13 points, just three shy of his career-best. He also recorded four rebounds and four assists in a team-leading 35 minutes of action.
How It Happened
Behind three three-pointers from Darius Moore, PC trailed Campbell by just one, 11-12, 13:44 to go. The Camels responded with eight unanswered, helped by a couple of threes, to make it a 20-11 lead, 11:07 before intermission. Both teams traded baskets the next several minutes until Jaron Withers and JC Younger connected on back to back treys to cut the Campbell lead to three, 2:48 left. That would be it for PC as the Camels closed out the half on a 5-0 run to head to the locker room leading 31-21.
PC opened the second half with five straight and trailed by three, 28-31, but it was Campbell with 11 unanswered to take the lead to 14, 42-28, 13:54 left. The Blue Hose cut the lead to eight, 38-46, off a basket and two free throws from Ed Drew with just over 10 minutes to play. Campbell scored the next four of the game’s six points to make it a 10-point game again, 50-40, 8:06 on the clock. A three-pointer by Will Adams with 1:50 to go cut the margin to six, 53-59, but Campbell used clutch free throws and strong defense down the stretch to hold on to the 69-58 win.
The eight three-pointers for the Blue Hose ties for third highest of the season. Three Blue hose scored in double figures for the fourth straight game and ninth time overall this season.

PC drops to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in the Big South, while Campbell improves to 8-6, 1-1.
The Blue Hose next continue action on the road as they take on Longwood Wednesday, Jan., 4, at 7 p.m.
