Four Blue Hose players reached double-figure points to lead the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team to a 77-67 victory over VMI at the Templeton Center on Tuesday night. PC improves to 2-2 on the young season, while the Keydets fall to 1-3 overall.

Player of the Game
Ed Drew totaled a season-high 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the field to go with six rebounds. The total was the third-highest of Drew’s career, trailing a pair of 20+ point games last season. Reggie Dillard contributed 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting with four assists and three steals. Freshman Jo’Vontae Millner added 11 points and a season-high nine rebounds, while fellow rookie J.C. Younger scored a season-high-tying 15 points for the third time this year.

Stat of the Game
The Blue Hose forced a season-high 16 turnovers in the game coming on a season-high 10 steals. The 16 turnovers led to 24 points for the Blue Hose, its highest total of points off turnovers since last season when the Blue Hose totaled 37 against Montreat.

How It Happened
VMI opened the game to a 5-0 lead before JC Younger nailed a three-pointer to get the Blue Hose on the board at 5-3. The Keydets were able to maintain the lead until the 9:23 mark of the opening half when PC tied it at 16 on back-to-back layups from Ed Drew. VMI would regain the lead and push the advantage to four before the Blue Hose went on a 9-0 to take a five-point lead at 28-23 with just under three minutes left in the half. The two teams traded baskets through the rest of the first half with Reggie Dillard capping things off for PC with three-pointer at the buzzer to make the PC halftime lead 35-30. The Blue Hose their last six shots in the first half.

Notables
While VMI shot 43.9% from the field, PC shot 49.2%, the highest since shooting 54.8% against Campbell last February. The Keydets hit 10 of 31 three-pointers, compared to a five-of-11 effort from the Blue Hose. Rebounding was tight with PC holding the 38-32 edge. Both teams struggled a little from the free throw line with PC at seven-for-11, and VMI at 12-of-25

The Blue Hose hit 40 points in the paint, marking the highest since the 42 against Charleston Southern in late January of last year.

PC recorded 13 assists in the game and have posted double-digit assists in three of four games.
