Men's Basketball Adds Thibodeaux to 2012 Class

Presbyterian College men's basketball head coach Gregg Nibert announced the signing of forward Jarvis Thibodeaux II to a National Letter of Intent for the 2012-13 season.

"Jarvis is the last piece of the puzzle for the class of 2012," said Nibert.  "He can play both the three and four positions and is an excellent three-point shooter, as well as an incredible dribbler."

Thibodeaux is a native of Houston, Texas and played for St. Pius X high school under Henry Sims.  He was also a member of AAU clubs Team Genesis and Rashard Leis Elite.

This past year the 205, 6-8 forward attended Charis Preparatory School in Wilson, N.C., and played basketball under the direction of Carlos Peralta.  He averaged 12.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.1 blocks per game and led his team to a 39-3 record.

Charis Prep, who won the 2012 National Prep School Championship, named Thibodeaux Most Improved player, as well as Best Defensive player.

"Jarvis is very athletic and loves to play defense.  He comes from a great family and is a hard worker with great character."

Thibodeaux joins center Jake Campbell in the late signing period.  The 2012-13 class also includes guard Austin Anderson, guard Shea Jones and forward Matthew Citron, who signed NLIs during the early signing period.
