Bryant, Williams Earn Big South Conference Recognition
Bryant's First Team honor marks his first time on an All-Big South Conference team and PC's second straight First Team selection after Brad Zebedis (Rock Hill, S.C.) received the honor last year. Bryant appears on this year's team as the squad's first baseman.
The senior infielder led the Blue Hose in batting average (.313), runs (30), hits (65), doubles (16), home runs (10), RBI (36), total bases (113) and slugging percentage (.543). He also ranked in the top 10 among Big South players in home runs (third), doubles (fifth), total bases (fifth) and slugging percentage (seventh) after the regular season.
Bryant started 55 games for the Blue Hose, tallying multiple hits in 18 games and tying for the team lead with eight multiple RBI games. He also took over the Division I-era lead in career RBI (135), doubles (43) and walks (99). Bryant hit home runs against eight different teams in 2012 as well as posting at least one hit in 19 of 24 Big South Conference games.
Williams makes his second consecutive appearance on the Big South Conference All-Academic Team. The second baseman graduated with a 3.977 grade point average while majoring in psychology and has been accepted to Wake Forest's MBA graduate program. Williams' 16-game on-base streak marked the longest such streak on the squad this season and he drew a team-high 28 walks.
